Do I have to be an MTN Subscriber to use MTN Bulk SMS?
You don't need to be an MTN subscriber to use the service. However, MTN subscribers will can pay for the service with airtime and will enjoy discounts if they are on an SME tariff plan. To migrate to an SME tariff plan, get an MTN SIM and dial *460# to join the SME community.
How do I access MTN Bulk SMS?
You can access MTN Bulk SMS by clicking on this link https:// bulksms.mymtn.com.ng/ and registering on the portal.
Which Sender ID would the recipients of my messages see?
Default Sender ID is Bulk SMS. However, you can customize your Sender ID on the portal.
How do I customize My Sender ID?
Click on your profile name on the homepage, scroll down and click on the customized sender ID to input your desired Sender ID. Note that your Sender ID cannot exceed 10 characters.
What's the maximum number of SMS I can send in a month?
The maximum number of SMS that can be sent per phone number, in a month is 50,000 SMSs.
Can I send SMSs to non-MT N numbers?
Yes, you can send SMS to Non-MT N numbers.
Do I get a delivery report when I send SMS?
Yes, on the portal you can view an SMS delivery report showing successful & failed deliveries.
Can I send SMS anytime of day?
SMS can only be sent between 8:00 am to 8:00 pm daily.
Are there any restrictions to this service?
Yes, there are certain restrictions: SMS can only be sent bebueen the hours of 8:00 am and 8:00 pm. SMS that contain phishing links, prank content, foul language etc. may not be sent using this platform.
How much am I charged to use this service?
You can pay as low as N 1.80k/SMS depending on the package you choose and whether you are on an SME tariff plan. Dial *460*1# to join any SME tariff plan.
Can I carry over unused SMS to the next month?
Yes, you can carry over unused SMS once you renew your subscription.
Can I Top Up my SMS if I run out of SMS before my expiry period?
Yes, you can top up your SMS. This is still subject to a maximum of 50,000 SMS per phone number within a 30-day cycle. This means no phone number can purchase more than 50,000 SMS within a 30-day cycle.
Can I delete a scheduled SMS?
Yes, you can delete scheduled SMS. However, all charges will be applicable.
